Privacy Policy
Last updated June 2026.
This policy explains, in plain language, what QuietChart collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions or requests? Email support@quietchart.com.
What stays on your device (and never reaches us)
- Session audio — captured and transcribed on your Mac, then automatically deleted after the note is written.
- Transcripts and the notes QuietChart drafts — generated locally by an on-device model.
- Your note text is additionally encrypted by QuietChart on your machine. Client identifiers and session metadata (e.g., initials, dates) are stored locally and protected by macOS full-disk encryption (FileVault) — keep FileVault on for at-rest protection.
None of the above is uploaded, synced, or sent to QuietChart or any third party. Because we never receive your clients' protected health information (PHI), QuietChart is not a HIPAA business associate with respect to that data, and no Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is required for it.
What we do collect (only the minimum to run the business)
- Your email address, if you join the early-access list or create an account.
- Payment for in-app subscriptions is handled by Apple via the App Store; the optional website early-access deposit is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Subscription & license checks go only to Apple and never include any client data — no names, initials, session counts, or note content.
- Optional, anonymous app diagnostics (e.g., crash type, feature used) — off by default, opt-in only, and never include any session content, transcript, note text, or client data.
- Standard website analytics on this marketing site, loaded only after you accept cookies.
Why we collect it
To contact you about early access, create your account and license, process payments, and (only if you opt in) understand crashes so we can fix them. That's it.
No selling or sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for anyone else's marketing. We share data only with the providers needed to run QuietChart (e.g., Stripe for payments, our email provider, our website analytics provider).
Recording consent is your responsibility
QuietChart helps you capture consent, but you are responsible for obtaining appropriate client consent to record and to use AI-assisted documentation, including any all-party-consent or AI-specific consent rules in your state. QuietChart is a tool, not legal advice.
Your data, your control & regional rights
Because your clinical data lives on your Mac, you control it directly — back it up, export it, or delete it at any time. For the limited account/email/payment data we hold, depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California) you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port it. Email support@quietchart.com to exercise any of these.
